If you’re looking for some festive craft ideas for your little ones over the Christmas holidays, why not have a go at these? We’ve had fun making them in our creche, and we’ll sure you will too!
Tree decorations: print and cut out the shape of jingle bells, a heart, or a star on thick A4 paper. Punch a hole at the top and thread through a piece of ribbon. Get some newspaper down on the floor or table, and provide PVA glue, lots of small pieces of scrunched up tissue and some glitter for your little one to decorate with. When its dry, get it up in pride of place on the Christmas tree.
Christmas biscuits: cooking is a great activity to share with children. We used a basic biscuit recipe at creche (pictured above), but you could also try making these lovely Viennese Vanilla Kipferl together. Wash their hands, don that apron, try not to worry about the mess and get your little one involved in unwrapping, cutting, weighing and mixing!
Cook at 160° Celsius for 10-15 minutes, or until very light gold in colour. Turn the crescents in a mixture of powdered sugar and vanilla sugar while still hot.
Creative arts are an important part of our creche programme. Find out more about how your little one can come along and join in the fun on our Parents Workspace page.
