Local mum Ruth Sabrosa is bringing the popular Natal Hypnotherapy Birth Preparation courses to the area. Parents-to-be will have the chance to learn simple yet effective hypnosis techniques to help them have a more positive, relaxed and manageable birth experience. Research has shown that using hypnosis for birth preparation can help to reduce pain and medical intervention in childbirth, overcome fear, shorten labour and help couples feel more relaxed and in control.

Ruth personally used Natal Hypnotherapy for the births of both of her daughters and is thrilled to be able to help women in the Bloomsbury area. A local mum had this to say after attending Ruth’s workshop on Exmouth Market: “I left the course feeling so positive I felt like I could have the baby on Saturday night and I really don’t want to lose that feeling. It’s a revelation to feel excited and not entirely anxious. Thank you so much!” The 2-day course is ideal for couples between 32 and 38 weeks pregnant.  Ruth will explain what hypnosis is and how it works with birth, plus teach deep relaxation, pain management, visualisation and massage techniques.  The course teaches the woman to trust in her body’s ability to instinctively give birth and provides the partner with all the practical skills he or she will need to support her. Workshops are £95 each and include a book and CD if both are booked together so you can continue to practice the techniques at home.

For a free taster session and to find out more come along to the Nappy Ever After Home Birth Group, 96 Chalton Street, London NW1 1HJ Thursday 6th June 6-8pm.
