Come to Corams Fields Tomorrow, Tuesday 4 March at 7pm, to find out why our hopes for a new local secondary school have been dashed, and what action we can take.
Secondary school might seem a long way off for most of our little ones, but the ‘Where is My School’ Campaign has already been running for 20 years, trying to meet the education needs of children living south of the Euston Road.
In the last few months they have come tantalisingly close to a solution.  The Institute of Education, (just ranked Number One worldwide in the QS World University Rankings for Education) worked for 3 years with local parents and senior education practitioners to develop The Holborn School proposal, submitted to the Department of Education (Dfe) in November last year.  Every indication was that it would be accepted by Ministers and the Dfe.  At last we could hope for a trailblazing school led by a world class institute to be opened in our neighbourhood.
Yet two weeks ago, a rejection letter was received out of the blue, with just 4 short paragraphs of explanation. Â The reasons do not stack up in any way. Â Here is the Campaign’s fact sheet where you can find out more.
If you can’t attend tomorrow, please write to Michael Gove MP expressing your views:

And sign up to Where is My School  to receive regular updates from the campaign.  We are lucky enough to have many outstanding local nurseries and primary schools, our children need a secondary school we can be equally proud of!
