Half Term Holidays & Saving Our Local Fire Station

Half Term Holidays & Saving Our Local Fire Station
May 23, 2013 admin

Half term holidays are coming up and many of the regular activities on our timetable will be taking a break (even those designed for babies….)  However there are lots of other special activities taking place, and I am posting these up on the facebook page as I come across them.  Please add any others you hear about.

Although not strictly ‘baby’ territory, the proposed closure of Clerkenwell Fire Station, along with 11 other central london fire stations, should be a concern for everyone.  It will make a difference to how long it takes to reach the scene of a fire and start tackling it, particularly for anyone living in a high rise flat.  If you are interested in hearing more about how the cuts will effect Bloomsbury, there is a public consultation meeting at Islington Town Hall next Tuesday 28 May from 7-9pm.  You can also join a march and rally at Highbury Fields (by the tennis courts) at 12 noon on Saturday 8 June.
